Word of the day: quotidian
2007 April 12
This one comes from Stephen Colbert, although I can’t remember exactly when I heard it. Well, to be honest, I heard it today but I watched a couple of shows on my iPod today, and I don’t remember which one, so I don’t have the exact quote idiom. Sorry.
- Quotidian
- Occurring or returning daily; found in the ordinary course of events; “a placid everyday scene”; “it was a routine day”; etc.
So, you will have to do without Colbert’s quote to flush out a good usage for this word. Either that, or go and watch all the Colbert Reports you can, and see if you can find it for yourself.
