Hey Chad,
Just blog stocking you and came across this. Pretty funny, I like it. I'm christian, and I don't believe a single word in that comic strip or on that website. Funny, people don't really understand their own scriptures so they make up kind kind of crazy theories to help it make sense in their own heads. Tell me if this shocks you: sex isn't bad. Adam's sin has nothing to do with sex (and wasn't even a sin, actually- I think that this is a Catholic invention. The words "Adam" and "Sin" can't actually be found in the same verse in the Old Testament, I think). And, evolution exists. Can I say all that and still be considered Christian? Truths cannot conflict, if they do, one or both of them cease being true. Perspective, however, can change the way we see truths, meaning that things we thought were true might not necessarily be so, there are a million examples of this in science and religion. In areas of eternal truth, science and religion match up perfectly, the tricky part is finding out what truths are eternal, and which are subject to change. Now I'm rambling and probably starting to sound like a religious fanatic. Better go to bed.

A friend of mine had an interesting comment on this- that the sin of Adam and Eve was not sex/nakedness/etc, but it was disobeying God. God said don't eat the apple from the Tree of Knowledge, and they did, and God was pissed because they disobeyed him. A straight-up interpretation, as opposed to taking the knowledge as a metaphor for what the Church deems sinful. Hmmm, interesting. I should go back and re-read Genesis again, although I think that might drive me crazy. You know, with all the dinosaurs and stuff in it.

And you know, I'd really appreciate it if you'd keep your jesus off my peanuts. Erm, maybe I misheard. I'm impressed that SLC hosted Cornel West, though.
