Today I stumbled across the unveiling of a new search engine, called Cuil (pronounced “cool”). It started up recently as a challenger to Google’s search domination, and has taken a very different tack towards processing data out there on the Interwebs. You can cuil for “cuil” if you want to find out more about it (or you can google it, if you’re out of touch. I mean, googling things is so yesterday!). For me though, my first test of this new search engine was to indulge in the ubiquitous narcissistic query, and when “chad lake” didn’t turn much up, I tried searching for “lackhead” and got this result:

As you can see, Cuil was able to somehow dig out my deep connections with Scientology, despite the fact that I have never gone to a meeting, never read any Scientology materials, and as far as I know am not on the “bridge to total freedom”. While it might have been due to having read Battlefield Earth back when I was 13, I’d rather like to think that Cuil has stepped up the ante and is now reading and archiving every human’s OT level, and obviously I’m scoring pretty high.

So, at least I’ve got that going for me. Chad 1, Xenu 0.
